Honestly, I have had a hard time finding any motivation to sew lately. I believe the reason is because I have recently added 3 workouts a week to my schedule. It sure is keeping me busy! The flip side of that is that it is also keeping a weight loss goal in my head. It seems so silly to put time and effort into tailored garments when weight loss is a goal. However, it is Renaissance Festival season here in sunny Minnesota, and I find myself without anything to wear. The funny thing is, I have lots to wear, but nothing that I actually want to wear, making the lack of inspiration to sew anything more of a dilemma. Alas, in a last ditch effort to be costumed, I scoured my closet. I found that one of my best options also fit well! After trying on what seemed to be a perfectly fitted lower/middle class bodice, I remembered that it had been a work-in-progress during that particular season. I used Margo Anderson's Historic Costume Patterns for this bodice. It was big for the first wearing, so it was altered until it fit me well. Thankfully, this bodice didn't need much work in order to wear it for our first visit this year! All I wanted to do was add tabs around the waist. I chose rounded tabs, and they are the cutest! I am very happy with how they turned out!
